I'm still using mine on Android 4.4.4, just to run my Home Assistant display panel and some background Tasker tasks for home automation. Good times, good times.ĮDIT: Bell Fibe TV app didn't seem to like operating, so I am giving Android 7.1 at try. Pretty crazy that a $99 tablet (down from $499) from 2011 is still going. In any event it was a fun little Saturday afternoon project. But I can now install the Bell Fibe TV app and use it for a little TV screen in my workshop. I was hoping it might seem peppier, but it doesn't seem to be. Note that 9.0 doesn't include camera or Bluetooth. Most of the way down the thread there is a "Follow up Q & A" which includes a button titled "What Roms do I recommend". There is a link to Android 9.0 install at the top of the thread. So I was doing some electronics spring cleaning and was getting ready to throw out my old $99 HP Touchpad, but I thought I'd google HP Touchpad one last time just for shits and giggles.įound this thread with a fantastic how-to video on how to update it to various newer versions of Android.
